In-Room Collaboration (Quest Preview)
With in-room collaboration, multiple Quest users can work on the same project in the same room. Powered by Meta Shared Spatial Anchors, in-room collaboration works seamlessly for both users in the same room and those who want to join them remotely.
Campfire Settings
1. Toggle “In-Room Collaboration” in Campfire settings to enable it on your device
2. Precise location setting
You should see a popup asking you to turn on precise location. Please select “precise location” for best results. If this popup does not appear, navigate to Settings > Privacy and Safety > Permissions > Location Services > Applications
and make sure “Precise” is selected for Campfire.
3. Share your project with another user
To share a project with another Campfire user, simply click on the Share
button to add their email.

Using a shared coordinate space
1. Open a shared Campfire project and orient the scene to your desired position
2. Other users can now join the project
To join a project, stand near a colleague and look where they do. If the project has been shared with you, an “Active Nearby” label on a project will indicate that the project is using a shared coordinate space and you’ll be prompted to join.
You’ll also see a project card indicating where the user has placed the content in the room. You can now collaborate in the project.
Remote users will continue to appear as virtual heads (if they’re on a headset) or as rectangle screens (if they’re on a PC, Mac, or iPad).
If you change rooms, you’ll need to clear your boundary history and recreate your boundary.
Quest Settings
If In-Room Collaboration isn’t working even after following the above steps, try manually toggling on the following settings on your Quest.
1. Turn on “Location Services”
When you open Campfire for the first time, you should receive a popup asking you to allow Campfire to use “Location Services.” If this popup does not appear, navigate to Settings > Privacy and Safety > Permissions > Device Permissions
and make sure “Location Services” is toggled on for Campfire.
2. Turn on “Share point cloud data”
When you open Campfire for the first time, you should receive a popup asking you to allow Campfire to “Share point cloud data.” If this popup does not appear, navigate to Settings > Privacy and Safety > Permissions > Device Permissions
and make sure “Share point cloud data” is toggled on for Campfire.
