Galaxy XR Setup (Preview)
This article explains how to set up Campfire for the Samsung Galaxy XR, powered by Android XR.
Availability
- Campfire for Android XR is available as a preview release. Performance may be limited, and some features available on other platforms are not yet fully supported.
- The following features are not currently supported in this preview:
- Scene Anchors
- Folders
- PCVR

Requirements
Campfire requires the Samsung Galaxy XR controllers, which are purchased separately from the headset.
Setup
Before you start, please make sure you have:
- Set up your Samsung Galaxy XR device and paired the controllers
- A USB-C cable
Step 1: Download APK
Download the Campfire APK file (provided by our support team) directly to the device. You can do this by clicking on the download link from within the device.
If you are unable to access the link from the device itself, follow the steps below to transfer it from your PC:
- Connect your Galaxy XR device to the PC via the USB-C cable
- On your Galaxy XR, go to Settings → System → Developer Options → Default USB configuration
- Select File Transfer from the USB configuration options
- Go to your PC and open Windows file Explorer; you should see the device as an external drive
- Browse to the downloads folder and copy the APK
- Unplug the device from your PC
Step 2: Install the APK
- On the Galaxy XR device, open the Files app and navigate to the Downloads folder; you will see
Campfire.AndroidXR.apk - Double click on the APK; it will automatically install the app
